How to use HubCW

HubCW is the Free Market board, price check and game database for MapleStory Classic World. This page walks you through everything, from your first search to your first trade.

1. Getting started

You can browse listings, check prices and use the whole game database without an account. You need a free account to post listings, message members, leave feedback and enter the giveaway.

  1. Sign upClick Sign up at the top right. Pick a username (3-16 letters, numbers or _), enter your email and a password of at least 8 characters, or use Continue with Google or Continue with Discord.
  2. Add your characterOpen Settings from the menu under your name and fill in your IGN, job and level. Buyers use your IGN to find you in game, and the giveaway needs it.
  3. Pick your pictureYou start as a random Beginner, like a new character in game. To show your own, click Edit character in Settings and upload a screenshot of your Equip tab: HubCW reads your gear and draws your character. Already on the level ranking? Click Use this look under Avatar in Settings: HubCW shows you as it last saw you in game and keeps up with your gear. Rather be a monster? Pick one in Settings, then Use my monster instead on the character page.
TipForgot your password? Use Forgot password? on the login page. The reset link works once and lasts an hour.
2. Search & check prices

The search box at the top of every page finds items, monsters, maps, NPCs, quests and skills as you type. Press / to jump to it. Pick an item to open its price page.

Reading a price page

Price Check is built from completed trades, not asking prices, so it shows what items really sell for.

Price nowThe median of the last few days of sales. Next to it: how much cheaper or pricier that is than at the start of the chart.
The chartEach dot is one sale. The line is the typical price and the shaded band is where most sales fell. Point at a day to see its sales.
Median (90d) & typical rangeThe middle price over 90 days, and the range most sales fall in.
Cheapest for sale & best buy offerThe cheapest item for sale right now (on HubCW and in Free Market stores) and the best buy request.
Price by stat rollFor equips: what each stat roll sells for, so a 7-attack glove isn't priced like a 5.
NoteEquip prices count clean (unscrolled) items only. A scrolled item can be worth a lot more, or less.

Sales come from HubCW listings marked sold and from sold-out slots seen in Free Market stores. Each trade in Recent trades says where it was seen.

Get a PM when an item shows up

On any price or item page, use the item alert box. Choose Someone is selling it (optionally at or below a price) or Someone wants to buy it (at or above a price), then Set alert. HubCW notifies you (the bell in the top bar) when a matching listing goes up. You can have up to 50 alerts and manage them in My shop.

3. Buying
  1. Find the itemOpen the Market. Search, pick a category, or open More filters for job, level and price. Each listing shows how its price compares with the 30-day median.
  2. Check the listingThe listing page shows the seller's real stats next to clean stats, the price check, and the seller's rep. Click their name for their feedback.
  3. Claim it or ask a questionClick I'll take it to buy at the asking price. The seller is told and the listing is held for you for 24 hours. To haggle or ask first, use Message on HubCW or post an offer under Replies & Offers.
  4. Meet in gameIf the seller gave an IGN, Copy whisper copies a ready-made /w line for them. Check the Find me channel and room. Trade through the trade window.

Not ready yet? Click Watch to save a listing to your watchlist in My shop.

Good dealsA good deal badge means the price is at least 15% under the median of 3 or more recent trades. Click Deals only on the Market to see just those.

Can't find it? Post a buy request

Click + Sell, switch the toggle to Buying, and say what you'll pay. Sellers who have it click I have it. Browse other people's requests under Buy requests.

4. Selling

Click + Sell in the top bar (or the big Sell button on phones).

  1. Paste a screenshotPress Ctrl+V with a screenshot of the item's tooltip, drop the image in, or click to browse. HubCW recognises the item and fills in its stats. No screenshot? Use Or search for the item.
  2. Check the statsFor equips, enter the real stats and slots left. Gray numbers are the clean values: Fill in clean stats copies them in. Buyers see how your roll compares.
  3. Set your pricePrices are per item. You can type shortcuts like 850k, 1.2m or 3b. Choose Fixed price, Or best offer or Taking offers, and set the quantity for stackable items. The Quick fill chips offer the median sale and lowest ask.
  4. Say where to find youUnder More details, add your IGN, channel and room, and an optional description. Then click Post listing.
ShortcutLogged in, you can paste an item screenshot on any HubCW page and it opens a filled-in listing.

Keeping it visible

  • Bump moves your listing back to the top, once every 6 hours.
  • A listing not bumped for 14 days expires. Click Relist to bring it back.
  • You can have up to 40 active listings and up to 4 images on each. Manage them all in My shop.
  • My shop counts the players who clicked Copy whisper on each listing, so you can see the interest even when they only whisper you in game.
  • In My shop, Bump all bumps every listing that is ready, Sold it? and ⋯ on each row mark a sale, change the price or close a listing without opening it, and Post again starts a new listing filled in like an old one.

Go live with your store

Selling from a personal store in the Free Market? On Go live, share your MapleStory window and HubCW lists your store on Live shops while it's open, with your items, prices, channel and room, so buyers can walk straight to it.

  1. Open your storeKeep your store window open in the game (the one with OPEN STORE and CLOSE STORE), and the minimap opened all the way.
  2. Share the windowClick Share my MapleStory window and pick MapleStory. Your browser reads the store right there on your PC.
  3. Pick your channelCheck the items it read (fix one with Wrong item?), then click Go live. Keep the tab open; Stop takes your shop off the list.

Once live, Copy link gives you your shop's own page to post in Discord. A shop that closed stays under Closed recently for a day, and members with an item alert on something you sell hear about it the moment you go live.

5. Finishing a trade

Marking trades as sold is what powers Price Check for everyone, and it's how you earn rep.

  1. Mark it soldOn your listing, fill in the final price next to Sold it?. Members who held, messaged, replied to or watched the listing show up right below: click the one you traded with. Or type the buyer's HubCW username or in-game name (IGN) and click Mark as sold. If the buyer clicked I'll take it, their name is already filled in.
  2. The buyer confirmsIf the buyer claimed the listing, the trade is confirmed straight away. Otherwise they see Did this trade happen? and click Yes, confirm trade (or No, this wasn't me).
  3. No name yet?Marked it sold without naming the buyer? Name them later under Who bought it? on the listing, and they confirm as above. Or the buyer clicks I was the buyer on the sold listing and you answer Yes, it was …, which confirms it straight away.
  4. Leave feedbackBoth sides then get a Leave feedback prompt for 60 days: +1, neutral or -1, with a short comment.

Trade fell through? Click Release to free a hold, or Close to take the listing down without a sale.

RemindersHubCW reminds you when someone's hold on your listing runs out, when a listing drops off the market (did it sell?), and a day after a confirmed trade you haven't rated yet.
6. Auctions

Got something rare, or not sure what it is worth? Auction it and let buyers bid. Running auctions are on the Auctions page, ending soonest first, and they show in the Market with an auction tag.

Running an auction

  1. Pick AuctionPost the item as usual, and under Pricing choose Auction. Your price becomes the starting bid.
  2. Buyout and lengthIf you like, set a Buyout price: whoever pays it wins at once. Choose how long it Runs for, from 6 hours to 7 days, then click Start auction.
  3. While it runsYou get a notification for every bid. Under Bids you can Remove a troll or a scammer (they can't bid again), or click Accept top bid now to end it early. Once there are bids, the item and prices can't be changed.
  4. When it endsThe top bidder wins, and you are both told, with each other's IGN. Trade in game; the winner then confirms the trade so you can both leave feedback. Winner never showed up? Click Offer it to … to sell to the next bidder at their bid. No bids? Click Run it again.

Bidding

  • Enter your bid and your IGN and click Place bid. Each bid must beat the top one by at least 5%; the box shows the lowest bid it takes.
  • You get a notification when someone outbids you, and when an auction you bid on or watch has under an hour left. Your bids are under My bids in My shop.
  • A bid in the last 5 minutes adds 5 minutes to the clock, so an auction only ends once nobody wants to bid any more.
  • Buy now for … pays the buyout price and ends the auction on the spot.
NoteA bid is a promise to buy, and it can't be taken back. If you win and can't go through with it, click I'm backing out on the listing, so the seller can offer it to the next bidder.
7. Rep, fame & safety
Trade repThe total of a member's feedback. It can only come from confirmed trades, one rating per trade, and it can't be changed later. The rated member can reply once.
FameThe ▲ / ▼ on a profile, like in game. You can fame one member a day, and the same member once every 30 days.

Trading safely

  • Check the other member's rep, feedback and ✓ confirmed trades (ones both sides agreed happened) before a big trade.
  • Always trade in game through the trade window, and check items and mesos before you confirm.
  • Mesos only. Real-money trades, account selling and piloting get you banned. HubCW staff will never ask for your Nexon login.
  • Something wrong? Use Report on the listing, or Report this member on their profile.

Read the full market rules.

8. Messages & notifications

The chat button in the top bar opens your messages. Start a chat with Message on any listing or profile, or search for a member by name or IGN.

  • Enter sends and Shift+Enter adds a new line. Sending an empty box sends a 👍.
  • Attach, paste or drop up to 4 photos per message. The 🙂 in the message box adds emoji.
  • Hover a message to react or reply to it (on phones, long-press it). A reply shows the message it answers; click that to jump back to it.
  • Paste a link to a HubCW listing and it shows as a card with the item, price and whether it's still for sale.
  • On a computer, chats open as small windows at the bottom of the page, so you can keep browsing.
  • A new message plays a short ding, and a new notification a softer chime, unless you're already looking at that chat. The 🔊 button at the top of your chat list (or the notifications list) turns sounds off and on for that browser.
  • The ⋯ menu (or the member's name in a chat window) lets you block or report a member, or delete a conversation (it's only removed for you).

The bell next to it holds your notifications: item alerts, replies to your listings, trade updates, feedback, fame and giveaway news. A number on the bell means something new; click it to see the latest (on phones it opens the full list), or open all notifications.

9. Database & tools

The Database comes straight from the Classic World client and covers Maple Island and Victoria Island.

ItemsStats, who sells or drops them, and the real Classic World stats learned from listing screenshots.
Monsters & MapsHP, EXP and where each monster spawns; every map's monsters, NPCs and exits.
QuestsEvery quest, plus the Quest ETC guide: all the ETC items quests ask for, by level range.
Jobs & SkillsEvery Explorer 1st and 2nd job skill.
CraftingRecipes for each profession, and which ones are most profitable right now.
CitizenshipTown grades, daily quests and weekly donations.

Tools

  • Where should I train? Enter your level to see the best monsters by EXP per HP, and how many kills to level up.
  • EXP Calculator works out how far you are from a target level.
  • Scroll Simulator lets you try scrolling an item without losing real scrolls.

Questions

Is HubCW free?

Yes. Accounts, listings and every tool are free.

Does HubCW handle the trade?

No. HubCW helps you find each other; the trade itself happens in game, face to face.

Why doesn't the database list monster drops?

Drop tables live on the game servers, not in the client.

Why is my listing gone from the market?

It probably expired after 14 days without a bump. Find it in My shop and click Relist.

Can I change my username?

Yes, in Settings. Your old profile link keeps working.

What time zone are the times in?

UTC until you pick yours under Time zone in Settings. Every time on HubCW then shows in your zone.
